Running Water… It’s a good thing.

Thursday, July 20, 2006

It is funny how you never think about your indoor plumbing until you have to do without it for a few hours. Last night we got a leak and had to turn off the water to the whole house. We made it through the night all right. But this morning everyone was really missing the water!I sat in the dining room waiting on the plumber to arrive and began to think of all the things we use water for:

  • cooking
  • cleaning
  • bathing
  • brushing our teeth
  • drinking
  • washing clothes
  • I am sure the list could go on! So, I was thankful when the water was turned back on! Life’s little blessings - how much they add to our lives!

    Flowers from Mykal

Anyway, my husband brought me home flowers last night.  That was so sweet! He also stopped by the store and picked me up all sorts of household goodies including a beautiful little planter in my favorite color green, two new beach towels, towels for the bathrooms, a new little blouse which is too cute, some new dresses for the girls, and some things for my future backyard patio! OH an he bought the sweetest stuffed animals for the children - so adorable!

    Bowl full of cherries.

Today, I am making a blueberry cobbler as well as a wonderfully decadent fresh cherry tart. I made a peach tart a couple of nights ago and we ate it warm out of the oven. Oh my! It was soooo yummy! I felt like I had gone to a fancy french bakery. I will share pictures and the recipe later.
