I decided that I wanted to begin to share my study of nature here, with you. In the Fall of 2006 as we began another homeschool year, I felt drawn more and more the Charlotte Mason Method of learning. I am still learning exactly what this means, but what drew me initially to her writings was her belief that children should study the nature around them.
I just purchased the book, Pocketful of Pinecones by Karen Andreola and began to read. I am anxious to read more!
We have had so much fun this spring watching the birds in our yard. I have a goal to take a picture of every kind of bird that I personally see. I take my camera everywhere! This week we were excited to discover a pair of what we believe to be House Finches building a nest in the ivy growing on the brick wall of our house. You can see the bird with straw in her beak in the picture below:
